| Well, you really can't toward pheremones to something, so that just can't work as communication. Since you just leave a pheremone trace.
I still flavour the hive resonance. Queeny makes noise causing the hive to transmit vibration signal all around the hive. Other xeno's listen to it and obey. |

| They get a mission which is given inside the hive. They go do their thing and return. During the mission xenomorphs can use resonance of metal. When mission is done, they return to the hive for further commands.
There is no way Queen can control the xenomorphs far far away, unless after the hive structure begins some metallic sections which can carry on the message. If outside the hive is just dirt, then getting the command is impossible.
If we would consider AVP movie as canon, the pyramid itself has great resonance, giving a great distance for the sound to travel. |

| Oh, I had a thought the other day, thinking about how Aliens see.
I hope I can remember...
I believe that the Aliens don't see Pheromones (they did that in AVP2 so it was easy for players to see enemies...and friends so duh) I think they can just detect it...like its an invisible force they are attracted to or react to.
Like Spider-Man's Spider Sense, he can sense danger and see his enemies before they see or hurt him...most of the time.
But yeah...I had a better explanation the other day, but didn't have time to get on.
Oh and one more thing.
